Go Orange for Harmony Day
20 March 2017
Tomorrow evening, March 21, the lights at the Maryborough Town Hall and along the Hervey Bay Esplanade will go orange to celebrate Harmony Day.
Harmony Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
“By lighting up the City Hall and Esplanade trees we are showing our support for cultural diversity,” Community, Heritage and Family Services Portfolio Councillor George Seymour said.
"As a community, and as individuals, we need to continue to work to ensure that we become a more harmonious community, free of racism and discrimination."
