Mayor believes JetGo will fly
14 July 2017
Council believes residents will take up the offer for direct flights to Melbourne on JetGo, Fraser Coast Mayor Chris Loft said.
“The good news is that JetGo has not cancelled the flights to Melbourne and are giving people more time to respond.
“The Melbourne flights are now scheduled to start on October 30 rather than July 21.
“It is thought that the first flight might have been too soon after the initial announcement as people would have already made their travel arrangements for July.
“By giving people time they can really test the market.”
Aviation Portfolio Councillor Paul Truscott said there was great potential for aviation on the Fraser Coast.
“The region will continue to grow, and will have one of the fastest population growth rates in the state,” he said.
“As our population grows new opportunities will open up.
“We encourage the community get behind JetGo and take advantage of the offer.”
