There will be traffic disruptions on Urraween Road between Main Street and Nissen Street during the next few weeks as services are relocated ahead of a road rebuilding project.
The $8million project, anticipated to start in April, includes the construction of a two-lane road with centre median and provision for future intersection connections.
“The project will complete the missing section of Urraween Road and provide access to the growing medical precinct as well as the TAFE College and growing residential developments,” Planning and Infrastructure Portfolio Councillor Denis Chapman said.
“A detailed traffic management plan for road closures and one-way traffic movements and detours will be published before work starts.
“Urraween Road is becoming a major artery.”
The project is anticipated to finish in December 2017.
