Beaches in Hervey Bay

Hervey Bay's beaches and coastline are unique as they are greatly influenced by Fraser Island and the Great Sandy Straits.  Our warm sheltered waters provide safe swimming and water activities for all ages.

Fishing is a past time enjoyed by many, whether it be off the beach or from the iconic Urangan Pier.

To further appreciate Hervey Bay's beaches, you can take a stroll along the scenic shared foreshore walkway, enjoy a picnic or site and watch the sunset.

Protected Vegetation

In areas like Toogoom you may notice dead or fallen trees on the beach in these areas.  These have been purposefully left to provide habitat for marine and other coastal species.

Smelly Seagrass

Dead seagrass that washes up on our beaches often gets smelly as it breaks down in the sun.  Whether dead or alive, seagrasses provide important habitat for many animals.
