Bauple Museum, Bauple 
 

The Bauple Museum is the result of major donations from residents and businesses, hard work by volunteers and a Centenary of Federation grant. The Museum is dedicated to the history of Bauple and the surrounding region.



Bond Store Museum & Customs House Interpretive Centre, Cnr Wharf & Richmond Streets, Maryborough
 

The Portside Centre incorporates both the Customs House Interpretive Centre and the Bond Store Museums.

The displays within the Customs House and Bond Store illustrate the history of the Port of Maryborough and how the city and region developed around the Port. 

Open Monday to Friday from 10am-4pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm.


Burrum District Museum, Burrum Street, Howard
 

Located behind the Burrum District Community Centre, the Burrum District Museum was opened on International Museums Day on 17 May 2006. 

The Museum incorporates the collections of the former Torbanlea Mining and Howard Museums with an emphasis on the historical development of the townships and settlements of the Burrum District and on mining history specifically linked to the Burrum Coal fields.

Open Tuesday and Wednesday from 9am-12noon and also the 1st Saturday of each month.


Hervey Bay Historical Village and Museum, 13 Zephyr Street, Scarness


Opened in 1974, the multi-award winning Historical Village & Museum boasts 19 building and over 8,000 exhibits covering all aspects of the district's history. 

Open from 1pm on Friday and Saturday and 10.30am on Sunday.  Closes at 4.30pm each day in Winter and 5pm in Summer.  Also open every afternoon over school holiday periods.



Maryborough Military and Colonial Museum, 106 Wharf Street, Maryborough


The Museum is regarded as one of the best country museums in Australia. It has a strong focus on local military and colonial history and contains more than 2000 items of interest with the displays constantly changing.

Housed in a National Heritage listed building in the heart of the Portside areas in Wharf Street, it is open seven days a week from 9am-3pm.


McMillian Light Horse and Military Museum, 256 Queen Street, Maryborough 
 

Located underneath Mavis Bank Historic Home, this museum specialises in the history of the Australian Light Horse as well as other militaria, including WWI, WWII (Army, Navy and Air Force) and Vietnam.

The museum houses a vast collection of saddlery, weapons, equipment, uniforms, original photos, military records and war diaries. Set out in chronological order, it allows the visitor to follow the history of the Light Horse at their own pace, ending with a look over a working Saracen Armoured Personnel Carrier.

Open 10am-5pm on Monday, Saturday and Sunday and 1pm-5pm on Thursday.
