Q. What number do I call if I want to pay my rates by credit card over the phone?
A. The number to ring to make a credit card payment over the phone is 131816. Please use the Post billpay code and reference number located on left hand side of rates notice, just above perforated section.
Q. Can I still continue to make payments towards my rates outside of the rating period?
A. Yes, you can and discount will still apply provided your rates are fully paid by discount day.
Q. Will we be receiving separate water rates notices?
A. Yes. We can expect to receive 3 water accounts every year. The first in November 2008, the next in March 2009, the following account will be incorporated into the rates notice which is expected to be issued in August 2009.
Q. Will I receive a reminder notice for the 2nd and 3rd instalments on my rates now since discount period has past?
A. Ratepayers who are paying by instalments will receive a reminder notice soon advising of what is left owing on their rates, however there will be no more notices sent to remind ratepayers of when the 2nd and 3rd instalments are due.
Q. Do I need to update my pension details each year?
A. No there is no need to advise us each year
Q. What are the flood prone areas of Hervey Bay?
A. Pacific Haven, Aldershot and part of Fairway Drive are the only flood prone areas. The rest falls under 'tidal surge'.
Q. What are the current water restrictions in my area?
A. Hervey Bay water supply area - Level 1; All sprinklers, irrigation systems and soaker hoses are banned between 9:00am and 4:00pm. Hosing of driveways and paved areas is banned at all times except where a water efficient high pressure cleaner (i.e. 'Gurney' or similar device) is used. All hand-held hoses in use must be fitted with a working trigger nozzle.
Maryborough water supply area - Default Level 0; Approved sprinkler times and days: 6.00am - 8.00am AND 6.00pm - 8.00pm odd numbered properties - Wed, Fri, Sun and even numbered properties - Tues, Thur, Sat. Residents can use one sprinkler, irrigation (micro, drip or otherwise) or soaker hose only, on the days and times above. Residents can use attended, hand held hoses at any other time - water efficient, trigger style hose nozzle recommended. NO unattended hoses are permitted.
Tiaro and Woocoo water supply areas - no current restrictions apply.
