More than 6,396 residents already reside in Division Eight, but the electorate also boasts large areas of prime development land. The boundary stretches from Susan River to Eli Waters, incorporating Bunya Creek.

Cr Robert Garland and the Health, Education and Training portfolio are a perfect fit. He owns and operates the Job Smart Training and Employment Agency. Cr Garland is also the founder of the popular 'I Love Hervey Bay' campaign.
