Book chat

Join us for a cuppa and chat about new books, good reads and lots more. No bookings are required and everyone is welcome.

Held the last Wednesday of the month at 10am (Hervey Bay Library), the last Friday of the month at 10am (Maryborough Library) and at Tiaro Library on the last Tuesday of the month.

Chess and other board games

Chess sessions are held every Wednesday from 2 to 5pm at the Hervey Bay Library.

Games including chess, scrabble, upwords and backgammon are played every Thursday at 1pm at the Maryborough Libray.

All are welcome to join in.

Computer classes

Want to learn the basics of internet use, emailing, Web 2.0, databases or computer equipment? Classes are being held at the Maryborough and Hervey Bay Libraries on different topics each month. Bookings are essential as placed are limited.

Would you like some personalised help? Your 30 minute free one-on-one session with a librarian is your opportunity to ask for assistance on any topic, such as using the internet, online databases, catalogue searching, finding books, research topics, downloading eAudiobooks.

Are you between the ages of 12 and 18 and love reading? Come to Book Ch@ 4 Teens where you can talk to other teens about what you are reading.

Held on the first Thursday of the month, 3.30pm at the Maryborough Library.

Junior book club

The Junior Book Club meets once a month and provides opportunities for young library users to discuss books and authors. It is open to children aged 8 to 12.

Held on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 3.30pm to 4.30pm (Hervey Bay Library) and 2nd Tuesday of each month from 3.30pm to 4.30pm (Maryborough Library) (excluding Janunary).

Rattle and rhyme

This program is designed for parents and their children under 2 years of age. The 30 minute sessions include songs, rhymes and a story to encourage interaction.

Held every Thursday at 10.30am (Hervey Bay Library) and every Friday at 10am (Maryborough Library) excluding school holidays.
