Seniors in Focus

Seniors in Focus is a Council program funded by the Queensland Department of Communities which supports and encourages all seniors in the Fraser Coast community to:

  • Live productive, enjoyable lives
  • Be independent and make informed choices for their own wellbeing
  • Participate in activities and interests of their own choosing
  • Access services to stay healthy, mobile and safe

Seniors in Focus is located at the Urangan Community Centre, Elizabeth Street, Urangan.

The following project groups are a part of the program:

Seniors Drama Group

The drama group meets on a weekly basis to rehearse for their end of year production.

The type of production changes each year and is based on the members feedback. Productions that have occurred in the past include locally written pantomines

The age of the group ranges from 60 through to 85 years.

Seniors Music Group

The Seniors Music Group meetes every Tuesday between 10:00am and 12 noon, with the exception of the first Tuesday, when they meet between 1pm and 3pm.

Singers and musicians are invited to become involved in this relaxed group .  Members perform around town at local events and at local seniors organisations either as a group or on occasions as individuals.   Please call 4194 2441 for further information or checkout the Seniors Website where you will be able to obtain a lot more information including the Seniors Activity Directory. See related link below.

Emergency medical information booklets

The Emergency Medical information booklet is a handy way to keep a record of your medical history and current medications.

The booklets are available for a gold coin donation from the Halcro Street Community Centre and Council.

They are a joint project between the Rotary Club of Hervey Bay City, Council and the Qld Ambulance.
