Traineeships

Council offers a number of traineeship opportunities each year. 

Positions vary from year to year and are subject to funding.

Traineeships may be available in fields such as Business Administration, Horticulture, Human Resources, Information Technology, Library Services and Tourism.

Traineeship positions are generally advertised towards the end of the calendar year with anticipated start dates in January and February.

Traineeships may become available outside of these timeframes subject to funding from external sources.

A full-time traineeship is for a nominal term of 12 months. During this time, the trainee will undertake both on and off-the-job training through an approved training provider while gaining practical hands on work experience within the chosen field.

All traineeships at Council have eligibility criteria depending on whether they are funded by state or federal funding.  These criteria are updated each year and are included in all advertising material.
