Southern hinterland townships of Tiaro and Bauple are alive with art, history, historic hotels and some of Mother Nature's most tranquil natural beauty.

The magnificent Mary River is home to rare turtle and ancient lungfish species and Bauple is where the first "bopple" (Macadamia) nut trees were discovered by the local Aborigines.
