Airports Airports

Council owns and operates two airports - Hervey Bay and Maryborough.

Hervey Bay Airport

Hervey Bay AirportThis link will open in a new window has commercial flights which operate regularly to and from Brisbane, Sydney and Lady Elliot Islands. 

Frequent charter operations are also conducted out of the Airport to nearby Fraser Island. 

The modern, well equipped airport terminal features a cafe and licenced bar, ATM, free wi-Fi internet and Visitor Information Centre

Carparking facilities are available in close proximity to the terminal and the first two hours in the short term area are free.

Hervey Bay Airport has a 2,000 metre long x 30 metre wide sealed runway.

Maryborough Airport

The Maryborough AirportThis link will open in a new window  is primarily used for recreational flying, medical air services, flying training and freight transport.

Maryborough Airport has a 1,587m long x 30m wide sealed runway and an 885m long x 30m wide grass runway.

Fraser Coast 2031 Aviation Strategy

Council adopted the Fraser Coast 2031 Aviation Strategy (1.2MB) on 25 August 2010.

The role of the strategy is to outline the key goals and future direction of the Fraser Coast airports.
