"The Fraser Coast Regional Council 2011/12 budget focusses on long-term sustainability and providing infrastructure that will support jobs and local businesses.

I believe the Council’s 2011/12 Budget is a financially responsible result for the community.

Council has taken a sensible approach in formulating this budget and has again committed to producing more with less and adapting to the changing economic environment.

Council is focused on ensuring the sustainable management and replacement of its existing $1.2 billion infrastructure base.

As with all levels of Government, Council is facing challenges in ensuring sufficient funds are available for the renewal and replacement of existing infrastructure while meeting demand for new services. 

Council has made “investing in our region’s prosperity” a priority in 2011/12 and will spend $40.46 million on infrastructure in 2011/12."
