A weed is a plant that has been introduced to an area, has gotten out of control and is not wanted.
Environmental Weeds
An environmental weed is usually a non-native species that has been bred over time to cope with harsh and varied conditions. These plants have or could have a serious impact on our bushland areas. They are also known as "Garden Criminals" because they can often be found in the average home garden.
Some examples of common environmental weeds are: Lantana, Singapore daisy, Coralberry, Mother-in-law's tongue, Ground asparagus fern and Murraya.
