Round Two - 2011/12 Community and Events Support Grant Scheme

Round Two of Council's 2011/12 Community and Events Support Grant Scheme is now open for applications.

Eligible organisations are invited to apply for funding of up to $5,000 to assist with community projects and events taking place between May 2012 and November 2012.

Applications close on 10 February 2012 and applicants will be advised of the outcome in March 2012.

Completed electronic application forms and accompanying documentation can be lodged at grants@frasercoast.qld.gov.au, in hard copy at Council Administration Centres or by mail to PO Box 1943, Hervey Bay, 4655.

New Year's Eve Sponsorship

Two community-run New Year’s Eve events have gained Council sponsorship.

Celebrations to be held on the Scarness foreshore, organized by the Hervey Bay Council for the Arts, Beach House Hotel and the Scarness Action Group, will include entertainment culminating in fireworks at 9pm.

Council will contribute $3,000 (for fireworks and sound and lighting equipment) and the Beach House will contribute $1,500 towards the event.

Celebrations at Poona, organized by the Poona Community Progress Association will receive $1,500 towards entertainment and security.

Council called for expressions of interest in July, 2011 from community groups to organise New Year’s Eve celebrations.

Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) 

Round Two of the 2011/12 RADF will open on 1 November 2011 for projects starting April 2012 or later and will close on 31 January 2012.

Visit www.arts.qld.gov.au/funding for current forms and information.

RADF Application kits are available from:

  • Council Customer Service Centres in Hervey Bay and Maryborough; and
  • Libraries in Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro, Burrum Heads and Howard.

The grant is administered by Council and jointly funded with the Queensland Government.

Financial Assistance to Sportsperson Grants Scheme

This grant is now closed for 2011/12.

The Financial Assistance to Sportspersons Scheme (PDF, 88kB) provides assistance to individuals in support of their participation at sporting competitions.
