Tome (previously Nkada) is a city located in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan and no formal agreement has been signed.

Current status

There are annual students and teacher exchanges from Kasukabe and Tome involving Sunbury State School, Aldridge High School and others.

Current News

11 students from Kasukabe Junior High with 9 accompanying adults came to the region for a short visit recently.

In their 2 days at Aldridge, the students were involved in a wide range of activities, including: Australian music lesson, drama lesson, Aboriginal art lesson, English language/interaction lessons, sport lesson, accompanying host brother/sister to class and Australian cooking lesson.
 
Students also visited the Maryborough markets on the Thursday, where they did a walking tour (with Ken, the town crier), shopped at the markets, met with Mayor Mick, river cruise, etc. On the Wednesday, the group went across to Fraser for a day tour. Students were all homestayed by Aldridge High families and both sides, the Aussies and the Japanese, enjoyed themselves!!
