Stall Holders needed for NYW celebrations

12 March 2012

Council is calling on Fraser Coast Businesses to support local youth at the Hervey Bay Youth Festival.

Stall holders wanting to promote their businesses are still needed for local celebrations being held at the PCYC on Saturday April 14, where a jumping slide, mechanical surfboard and giant glove boxing ring will be just some of the entertainment on offer.

Bush tucker and indigenous life jewellery making demonstrations will also take place, along with fire twirling and a Zumba display.

For music lovers, local youth bands and performers will be wowing the crowd for most of the day.

Council’s Youth Development Officer Colleen Eugarde said the local activities are part of National Youth Week (NYW) celebrations being held across the country.

“The theme this year is imagine, create and inspire and it’s really a chance for our youth to showcase their talents, share ideas and voice the issues that are concerning young people today.

“But we still need stall holders, offering fun interactive activities like face painting to get on board, and ensure the day is another huge success,” she said.

Interested stall holders can contact Colleen at Fraser Coast Regional Council on 4197 4518 or colleen.eugarde@frasercoast.qld .gov.au
