Lunchtime Wildlife Talk presented by John Parsons

Fraser Coast Wildlife Qld is presenting it's monthly free talk, on flying foxes and micro bats with John Parsons. John will also have a display and be available from Monday 13 - Thursday 16 April in the Hervey Bay Library foyer from 9-11am to answer any of your questions. You can also join John for the nightly spectacular fly out of bats from the Tuan Tuan Creek bridge at 5.30pm from 13-17 April.

Historical map of Fraser Island

Join us at the Hervey Bay Library for the official unveiling of what is believed to be the very first map of Fraser Island, discovered by Burrum Heads' resident Doug Walters at the Queensland State Archives. Doug has generously donated a copy of the map to the Fraser Coast Libraries and will give a brief talk on the historical expedition which led to the mapping of Fraser Island.

Inspirational book talk - Lynette Gordon-Smith

“The Legacy Left Behind” is a book that came about after a traumatic event. To help get through the emotional side of things, Lynette was advised to put pen to paper as a way to push aside how she was feeling. It began as a short story and gradually developed into a book which presents one family coming to terms with the legacies left by earlier generations.
