The Liquor Accord is a set of rules all pubs and clubs in Hervey Bay and Maryborough are using to stop unruly behaviour.
The three golden rules of the accord are:
- if you play up in one licensed premises you will be banned from all of them;
- if you try to get into a premises after being banned you will be charged with trespassing;
- and if you are a regular pubgoer who is banned from everywhere your social life will be in the pits.
Publicans have reported a drop in antisocial behaviour, especially violent behaviour, since the accord was introduced.
