Mary River Flood Study Mary River Flood Study

The new flood study commissioned for the Mary River from Five Mile Road West to Mary River Heads was received by Council in December 2011.  The investigation area in this latest study has been expanded considerably from previous studies and has used more accurate topographic data, bathymetry and current technologies to provide more comprehensive and accurate information than is currently available.

It is expected that the final report will be considered by Council early in 2012, following consultation with the Development Industry Reference Group.  It is intended that the Flood Study will be used to create overlay maps for inclusion in the Fraser Coast Planning Scheme and provide information for disaster management purposes and to determine minimum habitable floor levels.
