Good Neighbour Day - 27 March Good Neighbour Day - 27 March

Fraser Coast Regional Council, the Hervey Bay Neighbourhood Centre and the Queensland Department of Communities are encouraging individuals or neighbourhoods to organise an event or carry out a neighbourly deed on Neighbour Day, Sunday, March 27.

The idea is to create friendlier, happier and safer neighbourhoods by encouraging activities that bring people together.

To register your Neighbourhood BBQ and go into the draw to win one of 25 Neighbourhood BBQ starter packs, tell us in 50 words or less why your neighbourhood is the friendliest neighbourhood in our region.

The top five neighbourhoods will also have dessert delivered to their BBQ by a Councillor.

The neighbourhood with the best response will win the grand prize - a dedicated street sign announcing that their neighbourhood is the best on the Fraser Coast.

Entries close Thursday 24 March.

All BBQs must be held on Sunday 27 March and the correct time of your BBQ must be entered on the entry form.

Winners will be announced the week following Neighbour Day.

Neighbour Day is a day founded in 2003 after the remains of an elderly women were discovered in her home where she had passed away two years earlier.
