Sunshine expected for family picnic

21 March 2012

The wet weather is expected to clear for the Fraser Coast Family Picnic at Wook-Koo Park at Oakhurst on Saturday March 24, from 2pm-5pm.

A host of free family activities will be available including face painting, sand art and balloon making.

For animal lovers, the newest cute and cuddly additions to Old McDonald’s Travelling Farm will also make one of their first public appearances, including lambs and piglets.

Junior Bursary Awards will also be presented to some of the best and brightest young primary school students from across the Fraser Coast, starting at 3.30pm.

Members of the North Aramara Recreation Club will be behind the barbeque for a sausage sizzle, and tasty treats including snow cones and fairy floss will also be available for the sweet tooths.

The picnic will still go ahead in the event of wet weather, with most activities to take place inside the hall.

Admission to the picnic is free, contact Patrice Chapman at Fraser Coast Council on 1300 79 49 29 for more information.
