Switch on to climate change… by switching off!

Council is inviting all Fraser Coast residents to join millions around the globe and ‘switch off’ for Earth Hour 2012.

On Saturday March 31, The Fraser Coast Regional Council will join the largest environmental awareness event in history, by switching off all non-essential lights and electrical equipment, including computers and monitors from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Council is encouraging Fraser Coast residents to join in by turning off as many unnecessary lights and appliances as possible.

Last year more than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries switched off their lights for Earth Hour, sending a powerful message for action on climate change.
