Magpies and other swooping birds

Protect yourself:

  • Wear a hat or carry an umbrella
  • Move quickly through an area - don't run (avoid this area if possible)
  • Bike riders - dismount and walk
  • Place a flag on your bike and wear sunglasses


Snakes

Council does not remove or deal with snakes.

All snake enquiries should be directed to: DERM (Department of Environmental Resource Management) on 1300 130 372.

The operator will advise of an appropriate snake handler for the location.  Please be aware that there may be a charge for this service.  

Stock

Property owners have a responsibility to maintain boundary fences to prevent stock from straying onto public roads and places. Animals and roads can be a lethal and costly combination.
