The annual Summer Reading Club program will once again be taking place at Fraser Coast Libraries throughout the summer holidays.
This year the theme is The Amazing Read, exploring the many different places that you can take your book and read, as well as encouraging children from all over Australia to share their stories. The program will promote reading as an enjoyable experience and encourage children to seek out new places to read, along with celebrating familiar reading spaces.
The Summer Reading Club is divided into three levels for children from birth to 16 years, offering a variety of engaging creative writing activities, arts and crafts activities and games which encourage a love for books and reading as well as literacy and computer skills.
At Fraser Coast Libraries, Summer Reading Club activities run from 12th December 2011 until 14th January 2012 with a break-up party being held on 20th January 2012. Children and young people can register for free at any of our branches and will receive a participation pack with library information and an activity booklet. We will be running two weeks' of holiday activities in January. Please register at your local library for these events.
