Changes to Infrastructure Charges and Incentives

29 June 2011

Council has adopted new infrastructure charges that apply across the Fraser Coast and an Infrastructure Charges Incentives Administrative Policy.

Council’s adopted infrastructure charges are in accordance with the new state government guidelines, which set the maximum charge that a Council can apply.

The incentives policy is specifically aimed at attracting investment, especially in the Central Business Districts, in-fill development, small lots and medical centres.  It also encourages developers to provide innovative and sustainable development.

The funds raised by the infrastructure charges contribute to roads, water, sewerage, parks and drainage works.

The incentives will apply to existing approvals and new applications.

A copy of the policy can be accessed here.
