Fraser Coast Regional Council Local Heritage Register - Adopted

5 May 2011

Council at its Ordinary Meeting held on 6 April 2011, resolved to enter ninety-six (96) historic and culturally significant places into the Fraser Coast Regional Council Local Heritage Register.

The register covers heritage places that reflect aspects of local and regional cultural history dating from initial European settlement to the present and includes a variety of structures, archaeological and industrial sites, monuments and iconic buildings.

The register was developed as a result of changes introduced by the State Government to the Queensland Heritage Act which made it compulsory for Councils to maintain a register of places that are culturally significant.

View the register and place cards that detail each place’s heritage significance, along with a number of fact sheets that provide answers to frequently asked questions.

Hard-copies of the register are also available for viewing or purchase from Council's Customer Service Centres, 77 Tavistock Street, Torquay and 431-433 Kent Street, Maryborough.

If you would like further information regarding the local heritage register, please contact Jeff Brannan by email Jeff.Brannan@frasercoast.qld.gov.au or telephone (07 4197 4409).
