Flood studies for Eli Creek and the Mary River are underway.

Council has engaged Engeny to undertake the flood study of Eli Creek and held an inception meeting and site visits in March. 

This flood study is expected to be completed by 30 June this year, which is ahead of schedule. 

The Structure Planning exercise for Eli Waters/Dundowran will continue immediately thereafter. 

Council engaged GHD to undertake the Mary River Flood Study, for which bathymetry and surface modelling has been completed. 

Delays have occurred due to the need for additional software to handle the large volume of information.

GHD has developed two models, a Mike21 model and a TUFLOW model to compare and ensure the accuracy of the results. 

The 1955 event is currently running and will be used to calibrate the model later this week.  It is also expected that the 50 and 100 year runs will commence late this week.
