Cr Sue Brooks has lived in Hervey Bay for nearly 12 years, choosing to settle here after living in many different parts of the country.  Cr Brooks says she cannot remember a time in her life where she hasn't cared deeply about the natural environment. "Now I hope to work with the Fraser Coast community to ensure that we have clean air to breathe, clean waterways where fish and coral abound and healthy forests and bushlands," she says.  Cr Brooks and her partner Graham own a retail business on the Fraser Coast and Cr Brooks is passionate about fostering small business throughout the region.  She is also determined that Hervey Bay, in particular, doesn't turn into a "concrete coast" and that it retains its relaxed friendly lifestyle.

Cr Brooks is a Director on the Board of the Burnett Mary Regional Group, Patron of the Fraser Coast Pet Warriers and member of the Wildlife Preservation Society Queensland, Greater Mary Association and Hervey Bay Chamber of Commerce.
