City profile - Kasukabe
Kasukabe is a city in eastern Saitama, Japan, approximately 30 kilometres north of Tokyo and has an area of approximately 12 kilometres from north to south and 11 kilomotres from east to west.
The estimated population is 236,200 people.
The city's official flower is the wisteria.
Current status
School exchanges
Aldridge High School and Kasukabe Junior High have developed a strong exchange program.
Students from Kasukabe Junior High will be visiting the Fraser Coast in 2013 from 26 July to 3 August and there will be a re-signing of the Sister School Agreement between Aldridge High School and Kasukabe Junior High in Maryborough on 29 July.

Cultural Exchange Program
In 2010 Hervey Bay Regional Gallery initiated the Cultural Exchange Program with Kasukabe International Friendship Assocaition (KIFA) by hosting an exhibition of Japanese textiles, No No Hana.
Later in 2010, KIFA initiated a display of photographs of the Fraser Coast.
Photography club members in the region were invited to submit photographs, 30 of which were selected for the display - 'Fraser Coast in View'.
The photo exhibition then toured to six different venues in Kasukabe.
City profile - Tome
Tome (previously Nkada) is a city located in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan.
Current status
No formal agreement has been signed, but there are annual student and teacher exchanges from Tome involving Sunbury State School.
