Sister cities and friendship associations

Council enjoys a sister city relationship with Leshan in China and friendship associations with Kasukabe and Tome in Japan and Honiara in the Solomon Islands.

Objectives

The objectives of the sister city relationship and friendship associations are to:

• further develop existing relationships and to establish new relationships
• establish policies and protocols that guide Council and the community in these relationships
• foster the involvement of the community at all levels
• develop marketing strategies to promote the current relationships and benefits to the wider community
