Council recognises the importance of attracting and securing future professionals both as an organisation and as a community.
The workforce placement program seeks to work with training institutes and schools to provide work experience opportunities to local students to gain practical experience in their field of study/interest with a view to facilitating their transition from study to a successful career.
Council provides work placement opportunities for people undertaking educational training at school, TAFE or university.
Council endeavours to ensure that all work experience placements gain practical experience in their chosen fields.
The number of placements and scheduling for work experience varies from department to department, as it depends on the ability of the work area to provide effective on-the-job experience for the participant.
In order to undertake work experience you will be required to provide Council the following information:
- Contact details including your address and contact telephone number (during business hours);
- Type of work experience you are looking for;
- Start and finish dates for the work experience period;
- Name of your school/college/university and a contact name and telephone number for the establishment;
- Proof of public liability coverage;
- Resume; and
- Any transcript results (if applicable).
