Maryborough Open House and Open Gardens weekend
7 September, 2018
Uncover living history in all shapes and forms during the Maryborough Open House and Open Garden weekend.
Open House, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 22 September, is your chance to discover the tales and peek inside some of Maryborough’s historic buildings, Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said.
Open Gardens is from 9am to 4pm on Sunday, September 23. During the day you will be able to stroll through stunning gardens and appreciate the labour of love that has gone into the creation of some engaging gardens.
Be inspired as you explore the private gardens of our community's most avid green thumbs.
“The Maryborough Open House and Open Gardens is a free community event,” Cr Everard said.
“There is no cost to visit the homes and gardens or participate in the many events.
“On behalf of the community I thank the home owners for their generosity in sharing their homes and gardens with us.”

Saturday’s Open House highlights include a guided tour around the historic Maryborough cemetery to hear the tales of our ancestors.
Or experience the thrill of ringing the oldest church bells in Queensland at St Paul’s Bell Tower, in Lennox Street.
Linger under the Ann Street water tank to experience a performance by musician and multi-instrumentalist John Corowa as he creates soundscapes to invoke the Water Spirits.
On Sunday the Open Gardens will start with a free concert by the region’s favourite community band, the Maryborough Excelsior City Band, from 9am to 9.45am in the Queens Park rotunda.
Souvenir program booklets can be purchased now from the Bond Store, Gatakers Artspace, the
Maryborough Visitor Centre in City Hall or the Council’s customer service counters or some of the homes and gardens during the event.
