Fraser Coast Emergency Guide
Council has prepared a Fraser Coast Emergency Guide (PDF,2.1MB) which includes a set of handy guides to assist and enable you to complete your own emergency preparations.
The active preparation and participation of all in our community is key to our resilience, survival and collective ability to recover.
Are you prepared for a flood?
Each year from November to April our region is in the acknowledged storm and cyclone season. It is important to remain vigilant during this period and be prepared for emergency situations.
Are you prepared for a storm surge?
A storm surge is a rise above normal water level along a shore resulting from strong onshore winds and/or reduced atmospheric pressure. A storm surge results in a rapid rise in coastal sea-level that can be up to 100km across and between 2 to 5 metres above the normal level.
