Works by Fraser Coast sculptors go on show
5 September 2019
An exhibition of 3D sculptural works, which showcase the unique and diverse skills of more than 34 artists, will open at the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery on Friday, September 6.
“The exhibition brings artworks off the walls and out on to the floors - creating an immersive experience for viewers,” Councillor David Lewis said.
“The diverse materials used for the sculptures ranges from ceramic clay to polymer clay, paper and fibre objects and mixed media assemblage.
“The exhibition features a beautiful mix of themes and subject matters.”
People visiting Food and Grove in City Park on Friday night will be able to drop in and view the exhibition in the Hervey Bay Regional Gallery.
During the exhibition, which is open until Sunday, October 13, there will be three opportunities for budding artists to explore 3D art more deeply.
Members of the Fraser Coast artisans will lead an artist’s talk at 10.30am on Saturday at September 14.
And at 10am on Saturday, September 21, Erica Chapman will lead a workshop in which participants will build a ceramic bird using paper clay. The workshop is not suitable for children.
Bookings for the workshop are essential and can be made by calling the Gallery on 4197 4206 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
