COVID-19 support for business

A five-day intensive development course is a being offered free for 20 Fraser Coast business managers.

“The course will help managers take head on challenges brought by COVID-19,” Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said.

The five-day course will be followed by individual mentoring in marketing and business growth, staff recruitment and retention, supporting local jobseekers, strategic planning and resilience and self-management.

“The program focusses on building a managers’ capability, customer service excellence, recruiting and retaining staff,” Cr Everard said.

“The training will be delivered by specialists and tailored to meet individual needs.”

Expressions of Interest to participate in the course which will be undertaken in April, close on Friday, March 26.

Expressions of Interest can be emailed to economic.development@frasercoast.qld.gov.au.

“By helping managers develop their skills we help build businesses and ultimately improve employment growth across the region,” Cr Everard said.

The training program is funded by a grant through the Regional Employment Trial which is a program of the Commonwealth Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.

The training will be provided at Hervey Bay and Maryborough locations.
