Council Customer Service Counters close

Fraser Coast Regional Council Customer Service Counters will close today (Monday, March 30).

The decision to close the counters was made in line with advice from the National Cabinet overnight directing all Australians to stay home unless shopping for essentials, for medical and health care needs, exercising and going to work.

Council’s development information counter is also closed.

“Residents can still contact Council by phone, mail or email and can pay bills over the phone by credit card, by direct debit or by BPay,” CEO Ken Diehm said.

“For more information on options to contact Council check out the ‘I want to’ tab on the Council website

“Residents can still phone in to get help. Our Customer Service Officers are still on hand to provide information and help people.

“If people need information or forms, we will help you navigate the website to the information or form they need to download. We can also arrange for copies of the forms to be posted.

“Anyone needing to contact Council’s Development section can phone in and if they need to have a face-to-face meeting, an appointment can be made.”

As part of Council’s financial assistance package to overcome the effects of Coronavirus, the due date for the current rates notice has been extended to 30 June 2020.

Council is investigating what further options there are for rates concessions in the 2020/21 financial year; updating its financial hardship policy and other measures it could introduce to reduce the financial impact of the coronavirus on the community.
