Expressions of interest (EOI) for the Inclusive Access Advisory Committee

Back

The purpose of the Fraser Coast Inclusive Access Advisory Committee is to provide strategic advice on policy and practice issues to Council with such advice to assist Council in responding to the needs and aspirations of people of all abilities who live, work, study or visit our region.

The Committee will bring together a number of Councillors, key Council staff and people from the community with personal and/or professional experience and commitment to improving equity of access in the Fraser Coast region.

The Committee will advocate for solutions to issues on the life opportunities of people with all abilities; participate in the development of Council’s Disability Action Plan; advice on ‘best practice’ in universal access planning and assist Council to become a leader in delivering infrastructure and services for people of all abilities.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are now being sought for eight (8) voluntary community positions on the Committee.

Persons nominating will address the following selection criteria:-

  • Describe your ability to work in a positive relationship with Council and other Committee members towards building inclusive communities across the Fraser Coast;
  • Outline your understanding of access and inclusion issues across the Fraser Coast Region;
  • Outline your knowledge and/or active experience you may have in the field on inclusion;
  • Do you currently hold any relevant qualifications?  If yes, please list any relevant current qualifications;
  • Demonstrate your ability to develop links and liaise with the community – be it your local community or a particular community of interest.

In addition to the selection criteria consideration will be given to achieving, where possible, a balance of geographical representation across the Region and of the various target groups who experience barriers to inclusion.
