Our laboratory

The WaterOne Laboratory is a purpose-built, NATA accredited laboratory equipped to carry out an extensive range of analytical testing on a wide range of water and wastewater samples, environmental waters, bores and surface waters.

The combination of bacteriological and chemical analytical services allows WaterOne Laboratory to accurately establish the overall condition of various waters and wastewaters and ensure compliance with Water Quality Standards, as set out by the National Health and Medical Research Council's (NHMRC) "Australian Drinking Water Guidelines"; and to ensure compliance with licences issued by the Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (DEHP).

These services are available to the general public, farmers and businesses. A complete list of services, techniques and pricing is available upon request.

Domestic waters

Analysis of all treated and untreated domestic and municipal potable water supplies as per the NHMRC - Australian Drinking Water Guidelines. These waters include tank and bore water used for drinking, carted water or town water supplies.

Wastewater

Testing of "off sewer" package wastewater treatment plant performance and continued compliance with regulations and licence agreements is a speciality. WBWC laboratory offers services effluent reuse monitoring of storages, bores and surface waters, and the analysis of groundwater bores associated with wastewater treatment plants to assess the presence of contamination.

Recreational waters

Recreational waters such as swimming pools, spas, creeks, lakes and dams can be tested by the microbiological and chemical laboratories to determine safety and compliance with public health and government requirements.

Food production process waters and wash waters

Many food production facilities or fruit and vegetable processors are required to test the process waters used in production to satisfy food regulations, accreditation compliance (eg Freshcare) and AQIS requirements. WaterOne Laboratory Services offer the sampling and analysis of such waters.

Quality assurance

All laboratory activities and procedures are described in a fully documented Quality System that has been fully audited by NATA (National Association of Testing Authorities) with accreditation for Chemical and Microbiological water and wastewater testing.
