Venue Hire FAQ 

My event involves livestock. What do I need to do for biosecurity?

If your event includes livestock, you're required to comply with the Biosecurity Act 2014. This means a Movement Record must be completed for any animals being transported between properties in Queensland.

A Movement Record documents:

  • The owner of the animals
  • A description of the animals
  • The origin and destination of the movement

As the event organiser, it’s your responsibility to ensure all livestock have valid movement records. These records must be kept for the period specified by the Queensland Government, depending on the type of animal.

Can I hire the whole venue exclusively?

Yes, exclusive venue hires are available, see fees and charges or contact our office.

Maryborough Showgrounds & Equestrian Park operates as a dry hire venue, which means the hire includes the space only, with limited equipment provided.

How can I promote my event?

Promotion on Council’s website is reserved for Council-run or Council-sponsored events.

We have setup a new Fraser Coast Events website to help organisers spread the word about their events to the community.
