Environmental Education
Our Natural Environment Team offer a variety of education programs and events available to schools and groups. From hands-on activities to self-guided excursions that explore a wide range of sustainability, conservation, and wildlife themes.
Community Environment Program School Outreach
Council offers free, curriculum-aligned programs for Fraser Coast schools. Our Natural Enviroment Officer can present a number of engaging and interactive sessions catered for each year level.
Topics include:
- Threatened species (years 1–12)
- Daily and seasonal changes in the environment (year 1)
- What plants and animals need (year 1)
- Animal sounds and vibrations (year 2)
- Weathering and erosion (year 3)
- Food chains (year 4)
- Living things and life cycles (year 4)
- Adaptations (year 5)
- Changes in habitat (year 6)
- Food webs (year 7)
- Structures and survival (year 8)
- Reproduction (year 9)
- Biodiversity and conservation (years 10–12)
- Outdoor recreation careers (years 10–12)
*Programs can be tailored for schools transitioning between Australian Curriculum v8.4 to v9.0.
