Councillor's Discretionary Fund
At its Ordinary Meeting held on 15 July 2022, Council adopted a Councillor Discretionary Funds Policy(PDF, 188KB) which sets out the purpose and scope for spending discretionary funds.
Funding for 2026-2027
The following amounts have been allocated for discretionary funds in the 2026/2027 budget:
- Mayor: $11,130
- Divisional (per Councillor): $11,130
The Council's Councillor discretionary fund actively supports community purpose initiatives that provide services to the Fraser Coast region.
There are guidelines and eligibility requirements when applying for a Councillor discretionary fund community grant.

Sponsorship
Major Regional Events Sponsorships
The Major Regional Events Sponsorship program aims to position the Fraser Coast as an event-friendly destination through efficient and effective support of a vibrant, balanced calendar of events with a focus on a high return on investment in increased overnight visitation and visitor expenditure which contributes to the local economy.
To improve and extend positive outcomes for the Fraser Coast Region, sponsorship requests are required to align with the Fraser Coast Regional Event Strategy key goals. These are outlined in the 2025-2027 Regional Event Strategy.

The program accepts applications throughout the year (see dates below) to the Fraser Coast Events Advisory Committee for assessment or until funding is expended.
Funding is for requests upwards of $10,000 with no upper limit specified. Applicants, however, should be mindful of the total amount of funding available, meeting key criteria, providing suitable supporting documentation and request an appropriate amount for the value of their event. Multi-year contracts can also be requested.
Interested applicants are requested to phone the Sponsorship / Event Advisory Services on 1300 79 49 29 or email events@frasercoast.qld.gov.au to discuss their proposal and have the overview of minimum requirements provided for any submissions.

Sponsorship Round 1
- Applications open: Monday, 13 July 2026
- Applications close: Sunday, 9 August 2026 at 4 pm
- Event Advisory Committee Assessment: August 2026
- Outcome Notification: September 2026

Sponsorship Round 2
- Applications open: Thursday, 1 October 2026
- Applications close: Tuesday, 3 November 2026 at 4 pm
- Event Advisory Committee Assessment: November 2026
- Outcome Notification: December 2026

Sponsorship Round 3
- Applications open: Tuesday, 2 February 2027
