Boat Ramps

Boating Facilities on the Fraser Coast

The Fraser Coast has 36 well-equipped boating facilities that provide access to a variety of coastal and riverine recreational activities. These facilities include boat ramps, floating walkways, and pontoons, all designed to enhance the boating experience for residents and visitors alike. The management of these facilities is a collaborative effort with Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ).

Berthing Times

A maximum berthing time of 30 minutes applies to the outer face of the pontoon; however, there are no time restrictions for tenders berthing on the inner/landward face of the pontoon.

For information regarding extended berthing times, please refer to the Regional Harbour Master for Gladstone.

Incident Reporting

It is imperative to notify the Regional Harbour Master for Gladstone of any marine incidents, navigational hazards, or ship defects. Vessel operators involved in or suspected of being involved in marine incidents are required to report the situation immediately. Additionally, any navigational dangers—such as abandoned vessels, damaged navigation aids, or severe weather conditions—should be reported without delay. Ship defects that may compromise safety must also be communicated to the Vessel Traffic Service (VTS).

Boating Infrastructure Program

The Queensland Government’s Boating Infrastructure Program is an integral component of the Maritime Infrastructure Investment Program. This initiative aims to enhance boating facilities across the region by identifying potential new or upgraded projects through a collaborative proposal process.

Commercial Use

The commercial use of public boating facilities requires permits or licenses, depending on the activity and are issued by the facility owner.

For permits or licences for Council-owned facilities, please contact Fraser Coast Council.

For permits or licences for TMR-owned facilities, please contact Regional Harbour Master for Gladstone.
