Commercial and Industrial Waste

Commercial and industrial waste is classed as being generated by businesses, construction, offices, schools, restaurants and the like, containing a wide variety of different materials most of which are valuable and can be recycled.

Commercial and industrial waste can only be disposed of at Nikenbah and Maryborough waste facilities.

State Government waste levy

The Queensland Government introduced a levy on waste going to landfill from 1 July 2019 to encourage increased recycling and resource recovery and to reduce the amount of waste to going landfill.
