The Fraser Coast region has a 3,060km road network with 817km of unsealed roads.
Council has allocated $46.62 million from its 2015/16 budget to repair and build roads throughout the area.
Major works such as road widening, bridge replacement and intersection upgrades are carried out throughout the region and may have an impact on the community due to detours and road closures.
Minor works such as drainage, pavement resurfacing, and road maintenance is carried out regularly across the region.
The area is divided into two regions - Northern (Hervey Bay and surrounds) and Southern (Maryborough, Woocoo, Tiaro and surrounds).
Roads are regularly closed for maintenance work, projects or activities and events.
