A new barbecue area with shelter, furniture, and a dog water bowl was built in Aldershot Park.
The old barbecue was worn out and removed in 2024. The previous shelter was too small and not accessible for everyone. The upgrades match the all-abilities toilets, playground, and sports areas already in the park. Locals also asked for a water point for dogs.
Work commenced late March 2025 and were completed in May 2025.
Council’s Landscape Construction and Building Services Teams.
$44,000, fully funded by Council’s capital works program.
The upgrade has made the park more accessible and enjoyable for everyone, including people with disability and dog owners. Paths now link the new shelter to the toilets and car park.
