Project overview

City Park in Pialba is being refreshed with a range of upgrades designed to improve comfort, accessibility and the overall visitor experience.

The improvements will enhance the park's appearance and functionality while supporting the growing civic precinct surrounding the new Hervey Bay Community Hub, Hervey Bay Regional Gallery and Rail Trail.

Works are expected to be completed by early August 2026, weather permitting.

What's happening?

The project includes:

  • Refurbishment of sections of the existing timber boardwalk and balustrades
  • Installation of new seating and park furniture
  • Replacement of shade sails
  • Reinstatement of the water bubbler along the Rail Trail pathway
  • Landscaping and garden rejuvenation works
  • Environmental maintenance activities throughout the precinct
  • Refurbishment of associated park infrastructure
  • Improvements to sections of the Rail Trail concrete pathway

These upgrades will help create a more welcoming and comfortable public space for residents and visitors to enjoy.

Construction impacts

Temporary fencing, pedestrian detours and exclusion zones may be in place at times while works are underway.

Council appreciates the community's patience during construction and will work to minimise disruptions wherever possible.
