What happened

Maintenance to the turfed areas to reduce water pooling in low areas, assist water penetration in times of heavy rain, and remove weeds.

Why

These improvements ensure Seafront Oval remains a premier venue for both local and major events while continuing to be a much-loved open space for the Fraser Coast community.

When

Work started early February 2025 and was completed in March 2025.

What

Completed works:

  • Applied herbicides to manage weeds;
  • Scarifying and aerating of the soil to improve turf health;
  • Repaired irrigation and fertilised the grass;
  • Laying of new turf and top dressing to fix drainage issues at the western end.
