Christmas carols in Burrum Heads, a family fun day and cricket match in River Heads and an Australia Day community breakfast in Maryborough are among the events set to receive grants from Fraser Coast Regional Council this summer.
At its meeting today (Wednesday 15 October), Council approved more than $18,000 for 13 community groups through Council’s Festive Events and Australia Day grants programs.
Communities' spokesman Cr Phil Truscott said the funding would support a wide range of activities that bring people together.
“From carols and Christmas markets to family fun days and community breakfasts, these events give residents and visitors a chance to connect, celebrate and enjoy local traditions,” Cr Truscott said.
“They showcase the dedication of our community groups and volunteers, whose efforts make the Fraser Coast such a welcoming place to live.”
