Statement on Ambulance Wheel fundraiser

Crowd gathered at the annual Ambulance Wheel Fundraiser at Scarness Park Hervey Bay

Council would like to reassure the community that the much-loved Ambulance Wheel fundraiser will continue in 2025 — right where it belongs at Scarness Park.

The temporary walls used in previous years were removed during the Scarness stage upgrade because they didn’t meet current safety requirements.

Since then, Council has been working closely with the Hervey Bay Local Ambulance Committee to find new on-site storage and practical solutions for the event.

This partnership remains strong, and together we’re committed to keeping this Fraser Coast tradition thriving.

The Ambulance Wheel is a fun, family-friendly event and an important fundraiser for the Hervey Bay Ambulance Service.

Council has proudly supported it for decades, with Councillors and staff regularly volunteering their time.

The Hervey Bay Goods Wheel is the only one still operating in Queensland — a truly unique tradition.

So come on down, bring a folding chair, some spare change, and help raise funds for our local Ambulance Service.
